  1. Even from a distance, those shoes look huge, weird, and unnatural. They’d help their cause out so much if they’d simply cut the weight and size in half! Same goes for those ugly, ugly long bits. But what I’d really like to see is no pads. Nothing to hide under; the whole foot can be checked. We’re watching the Big Lick die; the only question is whether it is going down fast through another Jackie The Jerk and Larry Wheelon scenario, or slow, through stiff penalties, bad press and no economic incentives or other rewards to participate, that make it just not worth it for the BL owners to continue.

  2. Seems to me that the number of violations WOULD go down as the week progresses… because so many horses were DQ’d earlier in the week. Those would not be inspected again – they are gone!
