LEWISBURG, TN – Congressman Ed Whitfield (R-KY and Congressman Steve Cohen (D-TN) sent a letter on September 27, 2013 to TWHBEA addressing the issued of weighted horse shoes on trail horse and show classes:

Nephew Eugene was over at the feed store in Columbia this morning and some fellow was out on the loading dock talking about some woman named Donna Benefield. When the man drove off something flew up out of the bed of the pickup and it was an email:

Nephew Eugene checked with his friend in Lewisburg who said the TWHBEA office got Congressmen Whitfield’s and Cohen’s letter last Friday,  but the TWHBEA top brass at TWHBEA was so busy putting Pat Stout through an inquisition about a Poll on HR 1518, they never announced that the Congressmen sent them a letter answering the questions about the weighted shoes being fine under HR 1518/S. 1406.

Meanwhile, all those folks at TWHBEA seemed to have a burning urge to know who the “anonymous individual” donor was but Lori Horvath from Fairbanks, Alaska cleared all that up when she wrote the TWHBEA Executive Committee and confessed that she was the donor. But that is in dispute because at least 20 more people have also claimed that status.

Makes you wonder if the folks at TWHBEA will focus on the important thing.

What do the TWHBEA members have to say, YES or NO, if they are in favor of HR 1518/S.1406?

  1. God bless Lori for confessing to the heinous deed of sending out those nasty ol’ postcards! But it appears the Good Lord will be passing out a few more blessings….

This should clear up quite a few misconceptions on the part of the Dirty Lick society… that PAST Act will ban all shoes. I’m particularly fond of the last paragraph where it states “it does not provide a blanket prohibition on all shoes as some would have you believe”.

But wait, there is another paragraph that I like…. and another, and another! Pretty much spells it all out, that those who do no wrong have nothing to worry about!

    God Bless you Billy!

  2. What twist will the Lickers put to this Great News, they have to be cryin cussin and stompin .its clear to me that HR1518 is truly what is needed to Stop the Abuse of the Walking Horse.
    Thank You Congressman Whitfield,

  3. Well, I’m disappointed to find out that weighted shoew will NOT be prohibited, I say that if a walker can’t gait properly in a keg shoe, then it is NOT a high quality walker. If a Walker needs “help” of any kind in the way of pads, heavy shoes or chains to gait, then it is not a show quality horse.

  4. Depends on the weight. Do you honestly believe they will stop before the weight becomes detrimental on their own??
