Take a look at this:
PSHA October 7, 2013 Letter to TWHBEA
“Every member of the Performance Show Horse Association and this industry is working diligently to bring about significant and real reforms to the show horse component of this industry. We are working to create protocols that will result in objective, science-based testing that will identify those individuals who do not wish to abide by the rules. We are working with a number of Members of Congress on a legislative solution that will put these reforms in to the Horse Protection Act and protect horses from mistreatment and, at the same time, ensure that our industry and the thousands of families dependent on our industry are protected as well.”
And then this:
TWSHO September 12, 2012 Press Release
“The primary goal of TWSHO is to implement reforms that will rid the industry of soring trainers for good. Not only do we support components of what the members of congress from Kentucky proposed, the reformers in the industry are already doing it, with the strictest inspections and harshest penalties in the business. And we are actually enforcing the penalties. The USDA has punished 52 trainers in the last 42 years. In the last three years alone, SHOW HIO suspended 152 trainers for an entire year. We do have a problem however with legislation that will eliminate inspectors, be they from the industry or the USDA. The elimination of HIO inspectors and a system that allows for horse shows to voluntarily request inspectors would do more harm than good by allowing for abusive trainers to go undetected and unpunished. Horses are safest when the industry and the USDA work in partnership to ensure that horses are safe and that only sound and HPA compliant horses are participating in horse shows.”
TWSHO September 18, 2013 Press Release
“Those who abuse horses should be held accountable and we hope that today’s sentencing sends a message to those who hurt horses that this type of activity will not be tolerated,” said TWSHO spokesman Jane Lynch Crain. “The vast majority of people in the walking horse industry are involved in the sport because they love the walking horse and it is unfortunate that a few soring trainers have tarnished the reputation of the industry and the deeds of those involved. To rid the Industry of soring trainers TWSHO has been working to implement unprecedented horse safety reforms that include stricter inspections and harsher penalties. Industry reform efforts have resulted in a higher rate of compliance with the Horse Protection Act. Our goal is to ensure that all horses are healthy and sound and we are eager to work in partnership with all parties interested in putting horse safety first.”
The reforms being implemented by the Industry are having a real impact on ridding the sport of soring trainers and protecting the wellbeing of horses. This year’s Celebration had the most stringent inspection process in the history of the sport. For the first time ever swabbing results were expedited and made public during the event and violations were punished severely by suspending trainers’ licenses, disqualifying horses, removing ribbons, trophies and prize monies.”
At the 2013 Celebration, the “Saviour Horse – “Honors”
was turned down with as close to a two footer as you can get and still not have one.
So how in the world does Purple Strategies or this Big Lick cabal on behalf of which it works, believes that ANYTHING they say has any credibility?
Contrary to what Honest Abe said, apparently TWSHO and PSHA must believe that they can fool all of the people all of the time.
