LEWISBURG,TN – On a beautiful October day, the TWHBEA Executive Committee met and confirmed their destination, and this comes to mind:
Some of the lowlights of the TWHBEA Executive Committee meeting:
* TWHBEA is looking at a $250,000.00 projected operating loss or 2014 despite all of the cost cutting measures instituted to date.
* TWHBEA received a $500,000.00 offer on its building, but refused to counter the offer.
* TWHBEA Executive Committee voted down Electronic Voting – 6 to 3 – with Denise Bader Keyser – a German national,
for the second meeting in a row, providing the pivotal swing vote . Bader Keyser yet again turned her back on the Sound Horse and joined the Big Lickers in voting down a Motion to allow electronic voting at the December annual Directors meeting. Ms. Bader Keyser’s concern was if the Directors not close to Tennessee were able to vote electronically, then it might adversely affect TWHBEA banquet attendance. Ms. Bader Keyser seems to be unaware of the HR 1518/S.1406 PAST Act nearing passage in the U. S. Congress and the difference it could make in eliminating the soring of the Tennessee Walking Horse for the last 60 years. It is interesting to note that Ms. Bader Keyser lives in Germany, but has the resources to make the trip to Tennessee with regularity. She appears to be ignorant of the fact that the soring stigma Big Lickers live primarily in Kentucky and Tennessee, and they are more easily able to attend the Directors meetings, than those Directors live in more distant areas. Consequently, they vote the soring stigma line in disproportionate numbers. Ms. Bader Keyser seems to be “self absorbed” in her limited view and seems to be not at all concerned about what is in the best interest of the Sound Tennessee Walking Horse. Adding to the perplexing state of affairs, Denise Bader Keyser voted 7 – 4 in the historic May EC vote endorsing HR 1518 – but now seems to be a vote the Big Lickers can count on. The only conclusion that can be drawn from the votes that Bader Keyser has cast is that she is now a bona fide Big Licker. It’s not sure how that plays in the Fatherland. Also, Dr. Linda Montgomery
from Alabama seemingly has also cast aside her 7 – 4 vote in favor of HR 1518 and supporting the Sound Horse has now apparently become a “Big Licker” and firmly voted against the Sound Horse electronic voting. Ironically, Dr. Montgomery is VP – Equine Welfare.
* There is no longer any such thing as Executive Session at TWHBEA. EC member Christy Lantis, presently the subject of a removal Petition by California TWHBEA members, was cited by VP Pleasure Horse Rick Wies
for multiple “Executive Session violations over past years, and the EC did nothing to discipline her. Going forward, there does not appear any such things as confidentiality of “Executive Session”.
* TWHBEA Interim President Rob Cornelius
seems to be firmly in the hip pocket of Jeffrey Howard – PSHA Spokesperson who appears to have free license to draft items for Cornelius, sign them and publish them under the PSHA logo and on the PSHA website.
Cornelius was chastised at the EC meeting for “unattributed” material being put on the TWHBEA Website and Facebook page.
Veteran observers of the Tennessee Walking Horse believes the 1,132 TWHBEA members voting in the landslide HR 1518/S.1406 Poll to remove the pads and chains, eliminate failed HIOS, and make soring a felony most likely need to pull the plug on TWHBEA, boycott it, and withhold funds until such time that TWHBEA wishes enter the 21st century and face the reality that 210 Congressmen Co-Sponsors of HR 1518/S.1406 about to act and a public that has dropped the “Big Lick” Performance padded Tennessee Walking Horse like a hot potato.
Looks its time to burn it to the ground and start over.
That’s the only thing that worked with Nazi Germany.
