THE CONVERSATION

Marty to Butch

Butch,

I have no problem with you forwarding my comments. I stand behind what I said and have told the same thing to many others.

What I find interesting is that you just defended using on a horses skin therefore you defended soring and outed yourself as a sore horse person. Using Gojoe to sore a horse is ILLEGAL. This proved who you really are. You have been operating under the guise as a sound horse person. Only glycerine, mineral oil, and petroleum jelly are legal substances. Thank you for the valuable example you just made of yourself.

All the best,
Marty

Butch to Marty

Marty all I hear here is your attempt to past the buck. You blame some unseen handcuffs and the entire EC for the lies you told and written. You say the past presidents are acting or not speaking out because fear and intimidation. You are even speaking for Tracy Boyd and saying that he say pads and chains are the source of soring. Marty, poor leadership is trying to take any and all credit for anything good and attempting to blame every thing else on the EC,or the Unity Committee. It even looks as if you are trying to blame your dad. Gojo is used by millions of people daily to clean their hands. Most of these millions use GoJo many times a day without any harmful effect. So do you think a horse’s hide is more sensitive than human skin? Any way in an effort to root out the truth I will be forwarding your comments to as many of the people that you mention here. Oh, just one thing, I choose to promote all of the THW’s and all of those that are trying to move this industry forward. I will continue to work hard so you, Ms Dillion, NJ and even PS have the right to enjoy the horse you choose to ride (barefoot, keg shod, lite shod, or padded). I will stick to this principle on matter the pressure applied.

Marty to Butch

Actually you are wrong. The membership growth was before ANY legislation was ever introduced, before HR 1518, before HR 6388, and before the Jackie McConnell video. The listening sessions were before all of this as well. Get your timetable straight.

In addition, the membership growth was in the outlying areas and within the pleasure horse segment. The membership began to decline again after the listening sessions in part because of my statements at those meetings. Many of those statements were written by those attached to and within the Unity Committee I was placed in by the EC. I spoke as President the with a pair of metaphorical handcuffs on. This is the main reason I did not run again for President a third time because I knew I could do more good for the growth of the breed from the outside without having to wear the “handcuffs” of the EC.

Anyone who serves as President of TWHBEA long enough will come to learn what is right for the breed which is elimination of soring, pads, and chains. Tracy Boyd came to the same conclusion I did just earlier. There are other TWHBEA Presidents who feel the same, but have yet to speak out because of fear and intimidation factors the industry continues to use.

The only issue for a TWHBEA President after realization of the truth about the padded horse is whether they choose to do the right thing or choose to continue to perpetuate the lie that “we don’t fix padded horses.” They (padded horses) are all either sore or have been sored at some point to produce the big lick, and yes Gojoe is soring.

Have a great day,
Marty

Butch to Marty

That membership growth was back when you ran around saying that you would not support HR1518. That was back when you were all for the padded horses. You see I too believed your double talk at listening session and your written statements and at the annual meeting last year. I think you give yourself too much credit for the membership increase. It took all of us as members to help increase the membership. You say you do not hate your actions say other wise. Since you are a member of Fosh why don’t you get out of TWHBEA and have fun at Fosh. If TWHBEA is not successful without you and the HR1518 supports then I would say you are right. We have had a try with Marty and HSUS supporters how about you and your followers move on and lets see what happens without you.

Marty to Butch

Butch-

First, I am already a Lifetime Member of FOSH. I joined last Fall. Second, I don’t spend my time thinking about the name you mentioned. Nor do I hate anyone. That would be counter productive to my focus. Third, when I was President the Membership grew for the first time in many years and TWHBEA was the only equine breed in the U.S. to show membership growth, so Im not sure how its demise is my fault, by I am sure you won’t you wont change your opinion. Fourth, I follow God, and HIS opinion is what matters to me. That’s all I need.

When people like you think I’m doing wrong, that is my gauge that I’m doing right. Thank you for the reinforcement. I am grateful and wish you well.

All the best,
Marty

Butch to Marty

Marty the demise of TWHBEA has been under your watch. Your hate for David Howard or anything to do with the Celebration has made you sick and unable to make sound decisions. You should just join FOSH or what ever group you choose. Your negative spin on everything is growing tiresome. Your flip-flop actions indicate that your decision making process is in need of help. You have disgracefully attempted to bring God into your reasons for these poor actions of yours. Well I too pray and my God has told me that you are just hearing voices. Instead of helping this industry grow as you promised to do last year you have done nothing but promote the negative destruction of TWHBEA. People like David are working hard to promote and support all TWH horses. You on the other hand promote the destruction of most of the breed. You buddy up with the likes Nathan Jackson who in his latest e-mails have said that the TWH has to barefoot or only use a keg shoe. At least NJ has come out of the closet and has stated that the goal is barefoot or the use of a keg shoe only. You and those that follow you are the problem. The breeding is down because of many reasons. The economy is having a negative effect on the entire equine industry. The division, the confusion, the double speak, the accusations that you have created has caused the greatest harm to the whole Walking Horse environment. As a member since 1983 I am also partly to blame I should have been able to see through your lies, I should have recognized that you would chum up to whoever would offer support for you. It is sickening to me as a member that I allowed myself to be duped by you and your alliance with HSUS. I say No Horse Left Behind. I say make the huge improvement in the industry known to the public. This will improve public opinion. Unity, working with the other TWH groups, and an improve economy will be the foundation for better breeding numbers through out the TWH industry.

Marty to David Williams

DW- no HSUS involved. 1230 mares reported now vs 24,000+ 8 years ago is pitiful. If you bred an additional 1500-1600 not reported as you claim does that not put you and your employer Eichler in a serious conflict of interest as you now serve on the TWHBEA BOD and Eichlers farm is breeding over half the mares in the industry according to your statement? This just proves further xxxxxxxx in this industry. Also I might ask who owns the horses such as Jose Jose, He’s Puttin On The Ritz, Lined With Cash, and others now listed as Five Star Stallions that were formerly listed as Waterfall Farms or William B. and Sandra Johnson? What interest do you currently have? What side agreements exist? What conflicts of interest now exist between you/ and or their ownership of said stallions in relation to your service as a TWHBEA director? Should you not recuse yourself from certain votes related to this as I did in 2007 related to these matters when I worked for Waterfall for the best interest of TWHBEA? Check the record.

David Williams to Marty

Marty I see you are taking a number that was not complete for the mares bred this year and running with it to promote your PAST Act/HSUS agenda, never let a good lie go to waste.

In reality mares listed on the stallion reports is down 78% over the past 8 years. Do not get this confused with breeding. There are many eligible for registration with TWHBEA walking horses still being born and their sires and dams never appear on any stud report.

The double registration fee i.e. “DNA requirement” has run off a majority of the color trail horse breeders i.e. palominos and spotteds. If you would like to see a report on that I can get it for you.

Breeding is not down. Owners registering horses with TWHBEA is.

David

  1. We have just had a look into the heart of a “sound” licker. Mr. Allen says there is nothing wrong with smearing a little GoJo on the pastern. This is a newly elected director of TWHBEA, folks. If it wasn’t so sad, it would be funny. He just proved the point that the sound side has been making all along.
