“I am a voting resident in your district/state asking that you vote YES on H.R. 1518/S.1406 to amend the Horse Protection Act.
You will hear a minority of individuals who claim that this amendment will destroy the TN Walking Horse Industry. What this small group of individuals who oppose this amendment would have you believe is that many millions of dollars and jobs will be lost. What is untold is the millions of dollars and jobs that have been destroyed due to the illegal soring of TN Walking Horses.
Passage of this amendment will allow the thousands of individuals who have parted ways with the industry due to the awful black cloud of soring to return and once again prosper.
The TN Walking Horse Industry has had over 40 years to clean up their act and the public relations campaign today using known sored horses as poster children only further illustrates the deception of this minority group of TWH owners.
I ask for your support in cleaning up an industry which is out of control and has been since 1970 when the Horse Protection Act was implemented.
