International Support of the PAST Horse Protection Act

“The Tennessee walking Horse is known for the most comfortable gaited horse and a true trail horse. Smooth gaits and a friendly disposition.  But the TWH is also known for it’s Big Lick, an unnatural gait created by men using pads, chains, and heavy shoes. In some cases even by soring, Soring is a process of intentionally causing pain to a horse’s front legs and hoofs to enhance a gaited horse’s gait for the show ring.

Although current laws makes soring illegal, it’s still wide spread amongst the TWH Scene in the United States of America.

A new law, known as the PAST act (HR1518-S ) is currently discussed within the House of Representatives in the US. This new law will make pads, chains and heavy shoes illegal.

As International TWH enthausiast we want to make our voice counted, as this doesn’t only impact the US, but the breed all around the world.”

The citizens of the United States commend and salute our International brethren who join together united to remove the pads and chains to stop the soring of the Tennessee Walking  Horse breed.

Sincerely,
