CALIFORNIA FLATTER CLUBS DEMAND THAT FLATTER KING STEVE SMITH THE FIRST GIVE THEM OPPORTUNITY TO VOTE BY WRITTEN BALLOT

LEWISBURG,  TN –  King Steve Smith, The First ran on a Platform of:

“I will strive to unite our breed and rebuild our association”.

STEVESMITHCAMPAIGNFLYER

So far, King Steve is presiding over a fractured association bordering on outright rebellion due to the heavy handed approach that King Steve and Sir Walt Chism are taking in oppressing California TWHBEA members who are opposed to soring and want to remove a Director they think sympathizes with the horse sorers.

Here is what the King is facing “uniting” tonight:

The flatshod Tennessee Walking Horses clubs in California have written a letter to the TWHBEA Directors:

Dear TWHBEA Directors,

This letter has been endorsed by the Northern California Walking Horse Association, the National Plantation Walking Horse Association and the Plantation Walking Horse Association of California, representing all of the flatshod Tennessee Walking Horse clubs in the State of California.

We initiated the process to remove Director Christy Lantis because she is not representing the interests of the California members she represents, which she committed to do when she took the oath of office as a TWHBEA director.   As Vice President of the TWHBEA Performance Horse Committee in 2013, she consistently opposed  HR1518, the Prevent All Soring Tactics Act (“PAST”), legislation that her California constituents overwhelmingly support.  She has also consistently voted against imposing stiffer penalties for TWHBEA directors who have Horse Protection Act violations.

Under the Tennessee Nonprofit Corporations Act and TWHBEA’s Bylaws, California members may call for a special meeting to remove a director, with or without cause.  Over 25% of California’s members have signed and filed a  petition with TWHBEA requesting this special meeting to remove her.  The TWHBEA Bylaws require that we receive a written ballot, and TWHBEA is unlawfully and unfairly depriving us of our right to vote by refusing to send us written ballots.  We are being required to travel to Lewisburg, Tennessee to vote, which is unacceptable to California members.

We hereby demand that TWHBEA provide us the opportunity to vote by written ballot.       .

Thank you for your support of the wonderful, natural Tennessee Walking  Horse.

Sincerely yours,

National Plantation Walking Horse Association
Northern California Walking Horse Association
Plantation Walking Horse Association of California
