THETA, TN – If you really want to know why Walt Chism and Steve Smith are making
complete fools of themselves over how the Christy Lantis removal vote should take place, the answer is simple – one word – sore.
They are Big Lick.
The Big Lick is sore.
They are both protecting sore.
You can’t have the Big Lick without sore.
The majority of the TWHBEA members is sound.
Walt Chism and Steve Smith are attempting to protect a sore Big Lick Director Christy Lantis from California.
The ends justifies the means – so Walt Chism, who apparently fancies himself as a “legal mind”, is playing cute on the internet making up things as he goes.
What Chism is doing is making a fool out of himself.
Why would a responsible corporate officer be doing rambling “jibber jabber” on the internet with something this important or potentially explosive and harmful to TWHBEA?
Chism did some good things in the 1990s on blood typing and computerizing things at TWHBEA.
What he is doing in 2013 is embarrassing himself and staining his legacy.
There are no Tennessee statute “rules” on how the members vote is to be cast.
There is a statute which says there must be a meeting if 10% of the members petition for one.
Chism and Smith deferred to the TWHBEA By-Laws to require 20% of the members to sign a Petition.
Then over 25% of the California members signed the Petition.
Now Walt Chism is ignoring the TWHBEA By-Laws and “acting like a psuedo legal guru” in pretending that the TWHBEA By-Laws should have nothing to do with how the California TWHBEA members should cast their vote at the Lantis removal matter.
In Chism’s rambling weird Internet Chattering, he has even talked about having a Discussion at the Lantis removal meeting, and he would like to hear to it – as if he had a vote – which he doesn’t.
What Walt Chism does have is a position of trust that he is abusing to protect the sore Big Lick.
Perhaps he is trying to please Steve Smith.
It’s a strange personal arrangement those two guys have, but it’s turning into an embarrassing travesty for a Breed Registry which is being closely watched by the American Horse Council, elected officials, the press and the public.
What are these clowns Walt Chism and Steve Smith thinking about? Chism is about 75 years old and Smith isn’t a spring chicken. They are making a big mess out of things which will make resolution and reconciliation that much more difficult once the Prevent All Soring Tactics Act becomes law … which it will.
Shame on Walt Chism and Steve Smith for trying to disenfranchise the 211 California TWHBA members.
Shame on them for treating an International Breed Registry like a personal playpen.
Reese L. Smith would have never been a part of anything this stupid.
