LEXINGTON, KY – The Kentucky After Christmas Sale, once a sore Big Lick gathering place, is no more.
Not in Kentucky, any way.
Formerly a four day event clearing house for 400+ Big Lick stock, featuring a Spot Light Sale with established Tennessee Walking Show Horses at public auction, it is now no more.
The 2014 version at Kentucky Horse Park was a one day event.
A little over 100 horses were catalogued for the 2014 edition.
Not to be dissuaded, the LP Sales owned by David Landrum and Jerrold Don Pedigo has moved the Big Lick part of the sale to more sore Big Lick friendly confines of Mississippi at Tunica.
David Landrum is TWHBEA President Steve Smith’s horse trainer and has a long history of Horse Protection Act violations. Smith has rented Landrum his barn for over 25 years. Landrum quit training Big Lick horses after the 2013 Celebration and now operates an upscale riding academy which teaches saddle seat equitation to young riders.
Yet Landrum is an Officer in the sore Big Lick Walking Horse Trainer Boyz when he’s not flying under the radar with his Sound persona which plays better in Franklin, Tennessee.
