LEWISBURG, TN – Christy Lantis was the only California person to appear in person in Lewisburg today. Per agreement by the attorneys for TWHBEA and the Fran Cole Plaintiffs, the California case was dismissed provided two of the disabled California members were provided written ballots. The two California ballots were present to be cast this morning in Lewisburg, but the TWHBEA attorneys took the view that a quorom wasn’t present so no meeting was held consequently the votes were not allowed to be cast. As a result, Christy Lantis will remain as the sole California Director. If a meeting had been held, the outcome would have been a 2 – 1 vote and Lantis would have been removed.
Fran Cole will have a statement later today on what she considers to be the TWHBEA misinterpretation of the quorum requirements which resulted in the outcome of Christy Lantis remaining as the California director.
Nothing will prohibit the California TWHBEA members from petitioning for another removal vote on Lantis. Over 25% of the California members petitioned for Lantis removal due to her support for the sore Big Lick Tennessee Walking Horse and opposition to the Prevent All Soring Act. 79% of California members voting were in favor of passage of the PAST Act.
