KUDOS TO USDA APHIS ADMINISTRATORS KEVIN SHEA AND CHESTER GIPSON, DVM FOR SPRING FLING VMO ATTENDANCE – ALL EYES WILL NOW BE UPON USDA REGARDING THE MARCH 12, 2014 WALKING HORSE TRAINERS BOYZ MEETINGS TO SEE IF “POSSIBLE” NEW HIO DEAL WILL LET DAVID L. HOWARD’S CELEBRATION’S S.H.O.W. HIO AND THE TRAINER BOYZ GO SCOT-FREE

WASHINGTON, DC – To his credit,  APHIS Administrator Kevin Shea  had USDA VMOs checking colts at the Celebration’s “SPRING FLING”  Colt Preview last Friday night.  Eyewitnesses report only 10 colts were previewed, and the majority of the colts to be exhibited were packed up and hauled off when the Trainer Boyz realized that The Horses were going to be protected.

THEHORSES

The USDA presence sent a message by being there.     Under the direction of  Dr. Rachel Cezar,  the inspection of the young horses by the USDA VMOs was thorough and professional.  It included  retinal scanning,  thermography, locomotion, hoof testers and digital palpation.

Still,  the exodus makes you wonder.  There’s lots of talk about 98.6%, but what you had Friday night when a “real inspection” was taking place was over 50% cut and ran.  So much for those rigorous S.H.O.W HIO inspections.

When the USDA wasn’t there on Saturday for the Horse Sale,  several horses were noticeably deep.

The Celebration’s sparsely attended “SPRING FLING” event was supposed to celebrate Representative Blackburn’s alternative Bill being introduced.   One of the main sponsors of the event was Ex-PSHA Chair Terry Dotson who had two horses turned down as sore at the 2013 Celebration.  Bud Light was also featured.

The rollout of the Blackburn alternative Bill last week was eclipsed by a number of Representatives and Senators co-sponsoring the PAST ACT.

Representative Michele Bachmann (R-MN)
Representative Rob Wittman (R-VA)
Representative Bob Latta (R-OH)

Senator Barbara Milkusdi (D-MD)
Senator Mike Bennet (R-CO)

The total is now 60% of Congress favors passage of the PAST ACT – 268 U. S. Representatives and 48 U. S. Senators.

Now going forward, all eyes will now be on APHIS Administrator Kevin Shea and Chester Gipson, DVM in the days ahead.

Celebration Chairman David L. Howard has directed the Walking Horse Trainer Boyz to call Directors/Membership “OUR LIVILEHOODS” Meetings at the Celebration for Wednesday, March 12, 2014, the day before the National Trainer’s Show begins.

Seasoned observers speculate possible reasons for the Wednesday, March 12, 2014 Trainer Boyz Meetings:

  • Vote to approve PSHA as the Voice of the Performance Horse, and support a membership structure for PSHA in which customers will be required to join and pay a user tax.
  • Vote to show EXCLUSIVELY at  horse shows which hire S.H.O.W. HIO to inspect horses, or their trainer’s license will be suspended. Then Celebration Chairman David L. Howard can HIDE behind the Trainer Boyz, and say the Celebration won’t allow any horse to be entered or shown at the Celebration which has a trainer who has a suspended license.

OR

  • Vote to approve PSHA as the Voice of the Performance Horse, and support a membership structure for PSHA in which customers will be required to join and pay a user tax.
  • Vote to show EXCLUSIVELY at horse shows which hire the newly approved  Independent Inspection Services, LLC HIO,  to inspect horses, or their trainer’s license will be suspended.  This is the new HIO  that David L. Howard and John T. Bobo “may” have cut a deal on with APHIS Administrators Kevin Shea and Chester Gipson, DVM.    Part of the “speculated” deal would be for S.H.O.W. HIO to be decertified by consent, and all mandatory minimum penalties assessed by S.H.O.W. HIO  will be null and void, and the Trainer Boyz will start with a clean slate.

More on these possibilities as matters develop.
