THETA , TN – Out here, we are not exactly government loving people, but we do love the United States. Our system of government is not perfect, but it is arguably the best the world has ever known.
For the past few weeks, and especially last week, We, The People, who love Horses and want them protected, have called upon and challenged USDA APHIS Administrators Kevin Shea and Chester Gipson, DVM to enforce the Horse Protection Act.
We asked them to please enforce the law to eliminate soring, not just regulate it.
It is my judgement that they did their best to do so at the National Trainers Show, and the results speak for themselves.
They made a difference.
Notice was served to David L. Howard, Steve Smith and Company that it’s about “eliminating soring” – not “regulating soring”.
There never was 98.6% compliance. It was a lie concocted by a bunch of addicted people who criminally sore Horses for their selfish enjoyment. It’s part of an ingrained culture in which David L Howard and the Trainer Boyz profit.
It’s time for that culture to end.
So, in my opinion, it’s time to let the USDA hear from us – because you can rest assured, they will hear from the sore side.
We should let the USDA know that when they operate at that level of earnest law enforcement to protect The Horses that we will back them.
And we will take on and take down any one any time any place who dares to attempt to interfere with the United States Department of Agriculture protecting The Horses.
We know that David L. Howard and Steve Smith and Walt Chism are NOT going to protect The Horses.
We know that the Celebration’s S.H.O.W. HIO is NOT going to protect The Horses.
We know the TWHBEA Executive Committee filled with HPA Citation Histories which goes against the WIll of its members are NOT going to protect the Horses.
We know that Jeffrey Howard, Mike Inman, John. T. Bobo Pat Marsh and the PSHA crowd are NOT going to protect The Horses.
We know that the TRAINER BOYZ, Mickey McCormick, Bill Cantrell, David Landrum and the rest are NOT going to protect The Horses.
The American People are sick and tired of the Tennessee Walking Horses being trained SORE at the barn, and tired of them being shown sore.
That is why the public is no longer coming to Tennessee Walking Horse Shows.
We asked the USDA to step up last week and set the tone, not to regulate soring, but to eliminate it by enforcing the Horse Protection Act.
They did the job to the best of their ability.
In the past when USDA officials made similar efforts, the likes of David L. Howard and Steve Smith threatened them.
Or they had elected officials to whom they had contributed money threaten to cut the agency’s funding for other programs simply because they were doing their jobs enforcing the Horse Protection Act.
Hopefully, with 268 U. S. Representatives and 51 U. S. Senators, that day is over.
The covenant that, We, The People, made with the USDA is that their only jobs are to protect the horses, and to eliminate soring.
We said – if do your jobs, we’ll back you.
So now it’s time to back the USDA to stop the soring until they give a reason to do otherwise.
