2014 CELEBRATION ATTENDANCE PLUMMETS – BARBED WIRE HARNESS SHAPED IN FIGURE 8 PLACED OVER HORSES EARS WHEN PALPATING FEET MISS JUDIE’S DAYCARE CHILDREN BEING TAUGHT ABOUT BIG LICK TENNESSEE WALKING HORSES

SHELBYVILLE, TN – The Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration lost 48,327 spectators from 2012 to 2014, a staggering 41% decline.

The Tennessee public has left the sore Big Lick with empty seats due to the endemic soring documented by the USDA inspectors at this past Celebration.

The citizenry wants no more part of the soring necessary to create the Big Lick Tennessee Walking Horse.       Less than two weeks ago in a Maryville, Tennessee court room, it was again reminded of the barbaric methods used to create the sore Big Lick.

Shocking testimony of aggravated cruelty to Tennessee Walking Horses was testified to by USDA Vet Dr. Bart Sutherland on December 15, 2014.     The conflicting mental images of a torturous “Figure 8 Barbed Wire Ear Harness” allegedly used to “steward” Tennessee Walking Horses at Larry Joe Wheelon’s barn in Maryville, Tennessee next to pictures of innocent preschool school children participating in a make-believe Big Lick Tennessee Walking Horse Celebration at “Miss Judie’s Daycare” are indeed troubling.

A serious cultural sickness and disturbing disconnect is alive and well among some people living in the Red States depicted on this map.   This is where the showing of Big Lick Tennessee Walking Horses is primarily done. And where a small core of heart-hardened persons think it’s ok to teach children to adore something that is rotten to the core.

That would be the sore Big Lick Tennessee Walking Horse racket.

CRIMINAL PROCEEDINGS – MARYVILLE, TENNESSEE

On December 15, 2014, in Maryville, Tennessee (home of U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander (R-TN), USDA Vet Dr. Bart Sutherland testified in Blount County General Sessions Court that he found a “barbed wire harness shaped in a figure 8” at Larry Joe Wheelon’s Big Lick training barn on Tuckaleechee Pike on April 18, 2013. Dr. Sutherland testified that Wheelon barn worker Terry Hughes told him it was placed on a horse’s head and fitted over its ears so the horse would learn not to move while the horse’s feet were being palpated.

On August 31, 2014, The Shelbyviille Times-Gazette ran a story on the day following the 76th annual Tennessee Walking Horse Celebration about a lady named Mrs Judy Pope who owns a local daycare.   During the Celebration, Mrs. Pope and her daughter, Joy, had created a simulated Celebration showing of Tennessee Walking Horses by preschool children at her “Miss Judie’s Daycare”.

The story reads, ” … she as many Shelbyville-natives do, also has a love for the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration. Mrs. Pope said, “My daddy and brothers have always trained horses. My baby brother, Mickey McCormick owns Mickey McCormick Stables and has trained horses his entire life.”

“The only thing that makes Mrs. Judie’s Horse Show different from the Celebration is the size of the horses. On the first Friday of the Celebration, the children of Mrs. Judie’s Daycare bring their own stick horse for the much-anticipated “Mrs. Judie’s Horse Show.”

Pope said, “The kids bring their stick horses, but they also bring boots and hats to wear during the show. We try to make it as similar to the Celebration as we can.”

In an effort to educate the children about the Celebration, Pope has worked to include as many aspects of the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration in her own horse show.

“I went to the Winner’s Circle and bought the Celebration music and we play it for the kids just like they do in the arena. We also have numbers for each child, just like they have for the entries at the Celebration,” she said.

Pope also hands out prizes to the children and their “horses.”

“We give them ribbons and medals that say, ‘Mrs. Judie’s Horse Show,'” she said.”
