FOSH (FRIENDS OF SOUND HORSES) CALLS ON TWHBEA TO TAKE A STAND AGAINST CHEATING AND SORING – DON’T REWARD CHEATERS BY PUTTING WORLD CHAMPION TITLES ON PEDIGREES

LEWISBURG, TN – FOSH (Friends of Sound Horses)  today challenged TWHBEA (Walking Horse breed registry)  to refuse to acknowledge any World Grand Champion, World Champion and Reserve Champion titles on the pedigrees of Horses that tested positive on blood tests at the 2014 Celebration.  Further, FOSH urged TWHBEA to not place the World Champion titles on the Horses registration papers, and challenged it to stand up to corruption that the blood tests revealed.

The February 24, 2015 letter also noted that the “Blood Tests” administered by the Celebration’s “VAC” Committee did not test for “soring substances”.  It said virtually all of the owners of the horses testing positive had previously received Horse Protection Act Violation Citations.

Ms. Bippen said it is standard practice in other breeds to strip titles from those who cheat.  FOSH called on TWHBEA to take action  if it was serious about being against “cheating and soring”.

The Celebration’s “VAC” Committee was discredited at the 2014 Celebration when the    All American Walking Horse Alliance discovered that Celebration Chairman David L. Howard and “VAC” Chairman Tom Blankenship lied about  Budweiser Clydesdale vet Dr. Dallas O. Goble being a member of three man “VAC” (Veterinary Advisory Committee).

When asked about being a member of “VAC”, Dr. Dallas Goble denied ever being a member and said,  “I wouldn’t touch that with a 10 foot pole”.

Right now, TWHBEA is being run by President Steve Smith who has shown sore horses in the past and “Interim” ‘Executive Director Walt “Joe Willie Namath” Chism.  Shortly after taking office in January 2014,  Mr. Chism made boldly optimistic predictions, but unlike  those of Mr. Namath,   Mr. Chism’s vision has not come true.

The TWHBEA August 2014 “Statement Of Financial Affairs”  proves that as long as the  sore  Big Lick stigma hangs over the Tennessee Walking Horse breed, the future is  dim.

The reality of the soring has adversely affected the value and image of the entire Tennessee Walking Horse breed.

In  2015,  the Public will no longer accept the soring and it will no longer patronize the Tennessee Walking Horse business until the pads and chains are removed, and the USDA enforces the Horse Protection Act.

Mares are being not bred,  and horses are not being registered or sold.

Yet, the orchestra plays on at TWHBEA headquarters on North Ellington Parkway in Lewisburg, Tennessee:

Nephew Eugene says the American Public will no longer tolerate  soring horses.
