AAWHA ASKS SECRETARY OF AGRICULTURE TOM VILSACK, APHIS ADMINISTRATORS KEVIN SHEA AND DR. CHESTER GIPSON TO PUBLISH “USDA HORSE PROTECTION ACTIVITY REPORT” FOR THE “NATIONAL TRAINERS SHOW AND MISSISSIPPI CHARITY HORSE SHOW ON OR BEFORE APRIL 16, 2015
WASHINGTON, DC ““ The AAWHA (All American Walking Horse Alliance) today delivered a Petition containing 6,100+ signatures to U. S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack, and APHIS Administrators Kevin Shea and Dr. Chester Gipson and requested the USDA to “Prepare And Publish “USDA Horse Activity Report” for National Trainers Show (Apr. 2 – 4) and Mississippi Charity Horse Show (Mar. 26 – 28) On Or Before Thursday, April 16, 2015
Attached is letter from AAWHA official Jeannie McGuire. It asks the USDA officials to put the USDA inspection data in the same format that it provided in the “USDA Horse Protection Activity Report” for the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration, Aug. 21 ““ Aug. 30, 2014.
Ms McGuire said, “We call upon the USDA to demonstrate accountability and transparency to show it is doing its job to eliminate the “SORING” of Tennessee Walking Horses. The public needs to see what is being done.”
AAWHA official Jeannie McGuire said, “Mr. Vilsack, Mr. Shea and Dr. Gipson, there should not even be one SORE horse, much less over 50% showing signs of being abused. One sore horse is one sore horse too many. ‘The Horses’ are depending on you to protect them.” ############
