CASTING ASIDE TWHBEA, THE AMERICAN HORSE COUNCIL WELCOMES WHOA (WALKING HORSE OWNERS ASSOCIATION) AS OFFICIAL SPOKESPERSON FOR THE TENNESSEE WALKING HORSE BREED

WASHINGTON,  DC –   In a direct rebuke last week of TWHBEA (Tennessee Walking Horse breed registry),   the American Horse Council at its Annual Meeting welcomed WHOA (Walking Horse Owners Association located in Murfreesboro, Tennessee) as the Official Representative and Spokesperson for the Tennessee Walking Horse Breed.

The American Horse Council is America’s equine breed representative in Washington, D.C.  The AHC opposes “Big Lick” Animal Cruelty, and wants it abolished.

Located in Lewisburg, Tennessee,  TWHBEA resolutely champions “Big Lick” Animal Cruelty.  In contrast,  WHOA holds exclusively flat shod natural Tennessee Walking Horse shows with NO HPA violations.    In the past three years,  WHOA has experienced tremendous growth with NO soring violations,     TWHBEA,  whose leadership advocates “Big Lick” Animal Cruelty,  has seen a dramatic decline in its membership numbers and revenue – all due to its support of the “Big Lick” cruelty.

Representing the Tennessee Walking Horse Breed in Washington last week were WHOA Officials:

  • Ms. Dee Dee Miller – President,  WHOA  (Secretary & VP of TWHBEA)
  • Mr. Tommy Hall – Executive Director,  WHOA
  • Mr. David Pruett,  Board Member  (Twice President of TWHBEA)

Their AHC Committee assignments included:

  • Animal WelfareMr. David Pruett
  • Horse ShowMr. Tommy Hall
  • RecreationMs Dee Dee Miller

The turning point with WHOA apparently came following the historic April 23, 2015 CITIZENS PROTEST against “Big Lick” Animal Cruelty on West End Blvd in Nashville, Tennessee.

Following the Protest,  representatives of the “2015 Citizens Initiative Campaign Against “BIG LICK” Animal Cruelty” met with The Tennessean Editor Ms. Maria deVarenne and Content Editor Mr. Duane Gang:

  • John Haffner, DVM – Horse Science Faculty – MTSU
  • Carl Bledsoe – Former “Big Lick” Horse Trainer
  • Dee Dee Miller – President,  WHOA (Walking Horse Owners Association
  • Clant M. Seay – Spokesperson, All American Walking Horse Alliance

Combined, all four of these persons either raised, rode, owned,  trained or cared for World Grand Champion “Big Lick” Tennessee Walking Horses with approximately 175 years of experience among them.  Each one of them personally knows exactly and precisely the “Animal Cruelty” that is necessary to produce the “Big Lick” Tennessee Walking Horse.

And each stands in opposition to and in support of ending the “Big Lick” Tennessee Walking Horse.

At the meeting,  WHOA President Ms Dee Dee Miller said that in July 2014,  the WHOA International Horse Show (featuring only Flat Shod Tennessee Walking Horses) had more entries than the “Big Lick” Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration.   She said, “There were no Horse Protection Act “SORING” violations” at the International.  At the August  2014 Celebration, the USDA inspectors found over 15% of all Tennessee Walking Horses inspected as being SORE.

AAWHA Media Rep Clant M. Seay said “The American Horse Council refuses to allow TWHBEA (Tennessee Walking Horse breed registry) to be a member.”    He said,  “The American Horse breeds, such as Arabians, Quarter horses and Thoroughbreds do not want to be associated in any way with the Animal Cruelty of the “Big Lick” Tennessee Walking Horse.

Following the meeting with The Tennessean Editors,  The Walking Horse Report publisher and former Celebration Chairman Mr. David L. Howard personally attacked Ms Miller casting aspersions upon her.

Ms. Miller owned the 1998 World Grand Champion,  Masquerading,  and much to Mr. Howard’s chagrin and dismay,  she knows exactly how the “Big Lick” Racket and Mr. Howard’s business model works.

In 2014,  WHOA had more entries (1,953) at its showcase International Walking Horse Show in July vs. than the (1,784) entries for the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration in August.

One of the “BIG LICK, BIG LIEs” of the SORE Celebration/TWHBEA crowd supporting “Big Lick” Animal Cruelty is if you eliminate the “Big Lick” Tennessee Walking Horse,  you will eliminate the Tennessee Walking Horse breed.

Proving that is another BIg Lie is the phenomenal growth of WHOA shows with exclusively flat shod Tennessee Walking Horses (No “Big Lick”).

The all flat shod shod WHOA International Walking Horse Show  had a record 1,953  flat shod entries,  which is a 22%  increase over the 1,585 entries from 2013.

On the other hand,  the Celebration,  featuring a majority of “Big Lick” Tennessee Walking Horses entries,  were down approximately 33% from 2012 to 2014.

2012     119,245

2013         95,400

2014         70,918

That’s a loss of 91,258 spectators in 10 years.

Here are the Celebration’s “Big Lick” entry numbers:

  • 1,784 Entries  –  2014)
  • 2,137 Entries –   2013)     887 LESS HORSES IN 2014 THAN 2012
  • 2,671 Entries –   2012)

Two backward looking Champions of the Animal Cruelty of the “Big Lick” Tennessee Walking Horse are TWHBEA officials Mr. Steve Smith and Mr. Walt Chism.

Mr.  Smith,  Mr. Chism and Mr. Williams have presided over a two year free fall in which TWHBEA has lost almost 33% of its members due to their steadfastly clinging to and advocating “Big Lick” Animal Cruelty.

WWW.BillyGoBoy.com has now obtained the most recent TWHBEA financial numbers,  and they are shocking.

The TWHBEA financial information, which Smith, Chism and Williams have refused to make public,  will be published in complete this week.

The TWHBEA financial data will reveal more “BIG LICK, BIG LIES”.
