WASHINGTON, DC – Representative Ted Yoho (R-FL) and Representative Kurt Schrader (D-OR), both Veterinarians, along with a bipartisan coalition of Congressmen, are expected to reintroduce the PAST ACT (Prevent All Soring Tactics Act) in the 114th Session of Congress on Wednesday, according to AAWHA officials Jeannie McGuire and Lynn Delzingaro.
The All American Walking Horse Alliance efforts along with those of The American Horse Council were integral in Representatives Yoho and Schrader agreeing to be the lead Sponsors of the PAST ACT which will eliminate the Animal Cruelty of the Big Lick Tennessee Walking Horse.
Also AAWHA member Ms. Gena Booher, a constituent of Representative Yoho was steadfast in appealing to him to lead the way. As a large animal veterinarian, Representative Yoho brings unusual perspective and gravitas to the issue.
Ms. Booher created the art for the “Big Lick, Big Lie”, and “Lamar’s Tennessee Tradition”:
The “2015 CITIZENS INITIATIVE CAMPAIGN AGAINST “BIG LICK” ANIMAL CRUELTY” has reached to Washington, and its influence has been felt on Capitol Hill, as Tennesseans and citizens of surrounding Southern States have taken to the streets and roads to protest against the Big Lick Animal Cruelty.
AAWHA and FOSH (Friends Of Sound Horses) have called for a Citizens Boycott of the Big Lick Animal Cruelty of the 2015 Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration:
Nephew Eugene says there’s a lot more that could be told about how Congressman Ted Yoho (R-FL) came to agree to sponsor the PAST ACT, but suffice it to say, that it would have never happened without the determination and persistence of The American Horse Council and the All American Walking Horse Alliance.
