COLUMBIA, TN – Big Lick Tennessee Walking Horse Trainer Mr. Jamie Lawrence of Vinemont, Alabama was booked into the Maury County Jail at 6:12 p. m. on Friday, July 24, 2015, after being indicted on Aggravated Assault With A Deadly Weapon charge by the Maury County Grand Jury on July 7, 2015. (Mr. Lawrence is afforded a presumption of innocence).
Mr. Lawrence posted $10,000.00 bond, and arraignment was set for 9:00 a.m. on Monday, August 10, 2015.

News outlets from North Carolina to Oregon, and throughout the United States, have aire the July 24, 2015, WSMV – Channel 4 (Nashville) NBC affiliate exclusive of the alleged crime which occurred on May 30, 2015, at the Maury County Park where Mr. Lawrence, according to eye witnesses, went into an apparent fit of rage and drove his truck at Ms. Teresa Bippen who was present protesting Big Lick Tennessee Walking Horse Animal Cruelty.
Mr. Lawrence is represented by Hon. John S. Colley, III, of Columbia, Tennessee, who has waived arraignment of Mr Lawrence which was set for 9:00 a.m. on Monday, August 10, 2015, before Maury County Circuit Court Judge Robert L. Jones. On August 4, 2015, Mr. Colley filed Demand For Speedy Trial and Discovery documents on behalf of Mr. Lawrence.
Mr. Jamie Lawrence’s last show ring appearance was on July 18, 2015, at the Sam Gibbons Memorial Horse Show in Athens, Alabama, when he won the “Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration/Walking Horse Trainers Association” Championship Riders Cup Stake Class on “It’s A Medalist” owned by Ms. Kimberly Coult of Magnolia, Texas and Shelbyville, Tennessee.
Since that time, Ms. Coult reportedly has moved all of her show horses from Mr. Lawrence’s barn.

Nephew Eugene says that the case where a Mr. Andrew “Mike” Graves drove at truck at AAWHA Protestor Ms. Brenda Lamb on May 30, 2015, went before the Maury County Grand Jury today, and the Grand Jury’s decision will be known in approximately two weeks.
