COOKEVILLE, TN – A registered Big Lick Tennessee Walking Show Horse, Consignment #90, was standing in a parking lot outside the Wilson Horse & Mule auction without a glimmer of hope. He was almost 11 years old, and had survived and endured nine years of Big Lick torture.
Gen’s Ice Glimmer was “used up”, and the people who brought him to the sale apparently apparently didn’t intend on leaving with him. Glimmer was being ridden with lead in his front feet on the auction parking lot’s hard surface with chains on him.
GEN’S ICE GLIMMER, TWHBEA Registration #20404770, BloodType #TWT050457
“Gen’s Ice Glimmer” was waiting to go into an auction arena where he would have most likely brought $400-$500, and then loaded up with 19 other horses in a van to be transported to a slaughter plant in Mexico. The people consigning him had only asked $757.00 for Glimmer in a Craig’s List Ad run on July 19, 2015.
Glimmer’s last hope was a call to a person with the 2015 Citizens Campaign Against Big Lick Animal Crueltymade by Horse Plus Humane Rescue of Hohenwald,. Tennessee.
The call was answered, and Glimmer’s future changed in a twinkling of an eye. Without a second of hesitation, the 2015 Citizens Campaign Against Animal Cruelty stepped up and said “We will save Glimmer, and then we will fight for him to be sure the world knows what the Big Lick did to him, and to see that this is never done to another Tennessee Walking Horse in the name of “tradition” or “family entertainment” or to “raise money for charity”.

Here is a Craig’s List Ad and a copy of a You Tube video of “Ice Glimmer” being offered for sale by Mr. Tim Brown and his daughter, Ms. Trista Brown (Trista 166) on July 19, 2015:
According to the Browns, “Gen’s Ice Glimmer” was shown at London, Kentucky on July 18, 2015.
HERE IS “GEN’S ICE GLIMMER’S” STORY
“Glimmer’s” last known Trainer was 2012 Celebration Fun Show Judge Mr. Andy Simpson of Indian Mound, Tennessee. Mr. Simpson was the Trainer and Ms. Shirley Vandergriff was the exhibitor when “Gen’s Ice Glimmer” was found to be “SORE” in violation of the Horse Protection Act on April 5, 2013, at the MTSU Walking For Education Horse Show on the MTSU campus.
MR. ANDY SIMPSON, TRAINER OF GEN’S ICE GLIMMER, 2012 CELEBRATION SPRING FUN SHOW JUDGE
Facing more alleged Horse Protection Act Violation Citation charges (Animal Cruelty) not related to Glimmer, on June 1, 2015 Mr. Simpson began serving an eight month Federal Suspension.
MS TRISTA BROWN & FRIENDS – 2014 CELEBRATION PARK PERFORMANCE WORLD CHAMPION “TIME FOR CASH”, TRISTA BROWN, EXHIBITOR
Gen’s Ice Glimmer is a grandson of Pride’s Generator, and out of a Command Performance mare. He was bred by Mr. Don Bridges of Dawson, Georgia who is a long time customer of Larry and Gary Edwards.
Mr. Larry Edwards, Dawson, Georgia, is the Trainer of HONORS who was also “SORED” as a young horse:
Honors feet were scarred as a young horse, and due to the scarring, Honors was not allowed to show at the 2013 and 2014 Celebrations. On Saturday, May 23, 2015, when the USDA Vet Inspectors suddenly left and were not present to inspect the Saturday night, Honors was allowed to show by the DQP (Not USDA) inspectors and won the championship.
Thanks to an AAWHA Change.Org Petition by Lynn Delzingaro, backed by FOSH demanding “transparency and accountability” the USDA APHIS, for the first time, started providing a “USDA Horse Protection Activity Report” for indvidual horse shows during the season.
Here are the USDA Reports from key Big Lick Shows documenting the Big Lick Animal Cruelty of over 23% of all Big Lick TWH inspected by USDA Vets are in violation of the Horse Protection Act.
Glimmer is not the exception.
Glimmer is the rule.
Glimmer was shown over 32 times from 2007 until 2015.

GEN’S ICE GLIMMER, FOALED AUGUST 20, 2004 – SAVED FROM BIG LICK ANIMAL CRUELTY ON JULY 28, 2015
Nephew Eugene says there will be many more details emerging in coming days regarding the saving of Gen’s Ice Glimmer.
NOTE: www.billygoboy.com has confirmed that USDA APHIS IES (Investigative Enforcement Services) has opened an investigation into possible violations of the Horse Protection Act, and other laws, by persons and/or entities involved with the sale of Big Lick Tennessee Walking Horse Gen’s Ice Glimmer (GIG) on July 28, 2015 at the Wilson Horse & Mule Action at Cookeville, Tennessee. After purchase of Gen’s Ice Glimmer (GIG) on July 28, 2015, a 2015 CITIZENS CAMPAIGN AGAINST ALL AMERICAN ANIMAL CRUELTY on July 29, 2015, notified the USDA Office of Inspector General regarding the bilateral scarring present on GIG’s front feet. On July 29, 2015, GIG was examined by Dr. Steven Scott at Hohenwald Animal Hospital, and the scarred condition of his front feet was documented. On July 31, 2015, a USDA VMO (Veterinary Medical Officer) examined GIG with documetation by video, and the following week, the IES opened an investigation. On Friday, August 8, 2015 IES Investigator Mr. Paul Warren spent a half day at Hohenwald Animal Hospital in Hohenwald, Tennessee, reviewing records and documents regarding Dr. Steven Scott’s July 29, 2015 examination of GIG.
