PART VII – FORMER CELEBRATION CHAIRMAN MR. DAVID L. HOWARD LAUNCHES RACIAL ATTACK AGAINST AFRICAN-AMERICAN USDA OFFICIAL; CITIZENS CAMPAIGN AGAINST BIG LICK ANIMAL CRUELTY MOVES TO MTSU (MIDDLE TENNESSEE STATE UNIVERSITY)

SHELBYVILLE, TN – The Citizens Campaign Against Big Lick Animal Cruelty,  along with the enforcement of the Horse Protection Act,  was a ONE – TWO punch at the 2015 Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration.

The loss of approximately 30,000+/- spectators along with the Walking Horse Trainers Boyz in an uproar, and the destruction of the Celebration VAC (Vet Advisory Committee)t enraged former Chairman of Celebration Board of Directors Mr. David L. Howard so much that he “lost it”,  and racially attacked USDA APHIS Deputy Administrator Dr. Chester L. Gipson.

SHELBYVILLE TIMES-GAZETTE EDITOR SERVES CHERRY KOOL AID MISLEADING READERS – AAWHAMEDIAREP PROVIDES SANS KOOL AID COMMENT

THE SHELBYVILLE TIMES-GAZETTE “CHERRY KOOL AID”

“Inman’s talk, in which he also thanked attendees, was a class act. We can’t recall a Celebration CEO ever addressing the crowd on the final night. Again, a new, more personal outreach to the public.

Actually, Celebration 2015 could well be thought of as a turning point. The institution itself reached out to the public more than we’ve seen in recent years. And Bedford County responded. We also give kudos to industry leaders who seemed to welcome transparency more than in prior years, all for the betterment of the show and the horse.

So yes, we do believe the industry turned a corner and they should be congratulated for their efforts.

We hope it’s a start toward a brighter future for the Celebration and the horse industry as a whole.”

READER COMMENTS TO SHELBYVILLE TIMES GAZETTE EDITORIAL

AAWHA “Respectfully, your article is grossly inaccurate. It also does not have a name or by-line attached to it.

The USDA found 35% of the horses it inspected as violating the Horse Protection Act. This is abominable.

Citizens Protestors were present the first Thursday and Friday, and the second Friday and Saturday. They totaled more than 50 and represent approximately 70,000+ people who have signed Petitions Against Big Lick Animal Cruelty.

The Shelbyville Police Department led by Chief Jan Phillips did an extraordinary job of providing security for those persons exercising their rights to protest Big Lick Animal Cruelty.

The Celebration attendance was down by over 25,000 from last year.

The Celebration is in free fall because is based on a foundation of Animal Cruelty. Unlike professional athletes, horses don’t make the choice to be sored.

Neither Governor Bill Haslam nor U. S. Senator Lamar Alexander attended the 2015 Celebration. They won’t get caught anywhere near it.

That light you see at the end of the tunnel is an oncoming train.

p.s.

Big Lick Animal Cruelty is not the same thing as monkeying with footballs or NASCAR. It is inhumane treatment of defenseless Animals, and until the Celebration gives up the Big Lick, Shelbyville will continue to be nationally scorned for what it is hosting.”— Posted by aawhamediarep on Thu, Sep 10, 2015, at 11:55 PM

MSJOYWALKING“As an attorney, aawhamediarep should know innocent until proven guilty. “The USDA found 35% of the horses it inspected as violating the Horse Protection Act.” is untrue, inaccurate and libelous. There were no findings of guilt of violating the Horse Protection Act by the USDA. The USDA must first prosecute and offer due process to afford the accused the opportunity to defend themselves. Sadly, there is no accountability of the USDA’s actions. If wrongfully disqualified from competition, the USDA should apologize for their grave error and reimburse the accused their costs.— Posted by msjoywalking on Fri, Sep 11, 2015, at 6:52 PM

AAWHA “The USDA disqualified 35% of the Big Lick TWH it inspected from showing.

Why did it disqualify them?

Are you proposing the Trainers be allowed to SORE horses and USDA inspectors discover it, and then not disqualify the TWH from showing?

Almost 9,000 have people have seen the following You Tube video where former Big Lick Trainer Mr. Carl Bledsoe shows the Trainer BOYZ tricks of the trade on how to get a Big Lick TWH through inspection.

What comment, if any, do you have regarding Mr. Bledsoe’s revealing demonstration?— Posted by aawhamediarep on Fri, Sep 11, 2015, at 10:15 PM
