HEROES OF THE 2015 CITIZENS CAMPAIGN AGAINST BIG LICK ANIMAL CRUELTY – PLUS CAMPAIGN CHRONOLOGY (FEB. 26, 2015 – NOV. 4, 2015)

THETA, TN – The 2015 Citizens Campaign Against Big Lick Animal Cruelty was successful due to the contributions of many people from all walks of life.  The Big Lick never saw it coming.   And the Big Lick will never be the same again because of it.

BANNERBIGLICKANIMALCRUELTY

The Citizens Campaign was professional, efficient and had the usual amount of angst and drama inherently associated with such ventures.   Overall,  the results speak for themselves.  The Campaign developed a spirit and momentum of its own, and if you have experience in such matters, you can tell if you have the wind at your back.  With the Citizens Campaign, there was serious wind propelling it.

That is not to say that everyone agreed on everything all the time.   Some came – Some left – New ones joined – but the effort never stopped.

In the final analysis,   all contributed. and all who did,  should be given credit.

The Citizens Campaign featured:

  • Eight (8) Change.Org Petitions
  • Ten (10) Public Protests
  • Gen’s Ice Glimmer,  America’s Tennessee Walking Horse

Much of the work was done on social media.   Gen’s Ice Glimmer’s story has now reached over Two Million Four Hundred Thousand (2,400,000+) Persons around the World.  But the work was also done on the ground by persons who put themselves on the line to represent everyone else, and especially,  “The Horses” who cannot speak for themselves.

For many years,  the Big Lick has maintained its grip through threat of physical violence, or harm to property and animals, and character assassination.   Those tactics were tried in 2015,  but they did not stop the Citizens Campaign Against Big Lick Animal Cruelty.

Several Big Lick supporters were arrested for taking the law into their own hands.  Others were notified by law enforcement that lawlessness will not be tolerated. Some are awaiting prosecution and trial. There will be more arrests, and they too will be prosecuted.
