JACKSON, MS – It ain’t over until it’s over, but it’s definitely on the way to being over.
The 2016 Mississippi Charity Horse Show was about 20% of what it was in 2015.
According to JPD head count commissioned by www.billygoboy.com, there were 45 people in the stands on the South Side with 30 sitting at tables on the floor; and there were 50 people in the stands on the North side with 40 sitting at tables on the floor.
There was no charge for admission, and there was only one entrance way to get into the building, where in the past there were two. There was no printed program. In the past, the Jackson Horse Show Program was a slick lithographed product which was a collector’s item.
Those times are apparently gone forever – ‘look away, look away’.
Among the major local advertisers no longer in the building are Regions Bank (doing business in 16 states), and Trustmark National Bank (Alabama, Florida, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Texas), both of which are Jackson landmarks.
Are you listening Panama City Beach Tourist Development Council members???
How about you, Panama City Beach City Mayor and City Council???

- 4 NON “Big Lick” Classes – 13 Horses (3.25 Horse Average)
If it’s not the end of the “Big Lick” in Jackson, Mississippi, the progress of its demise certainly seems to be much further along than just the “beginning of the end”.
When the University of Mississippi Medical Center’s Childrens Hospital left the building last March, so did the City of Jackson, and the State of Mississippi.
SCENES FROM SATURDAY NIGHT – MISS. CHARITY HORSE SHOW
Ms. Blaise Broccard is a talented rider. It’s shame that her talent, drive and competitive will is going to waste on “Big Lick” Animal Cruelty. With her ability and work ethic, Ms. Broccard could definitely find a home in the equestrian world outside the tawdry stigma of the “Big Lick” Animal Cruelty.
Let’s hope she finds it sooner, rather than later.
MS. KIMBERLY COULT CANTERS “FESTUS” WORLD GRAND CHAMPION TENNESSEE WALKING MULE
Ms. Coult and Ms. Milligan each share an association with this gentleman. Ms. Coult is Mr. Lawrence’s premier sponsor, and Ms. Milligan has a horse in training with him after assisting in his criminal trial on Feb. 2, 2016, when a Maury County, Tennessee Jury found Mr. Lawrence guilty of assault against Ms. Teresa Bippen, President of FOSH (Friends of Sound Horses).
MS. “SISTER” MILLIGAN UP ON A NATURAL GAITED PASO FINO
Nephew Eugene met a nice young lady who has a cool canine companion (JRT) named “Peanut Butter”. She plans to show her spotted horse, “Taco Scout”, at the Panama City Beach Horse Show.
