Wartrace, Tennessee – The calm of a warm peaceful evening in a vintage Southern railroad town was shattered last Thursday (July 28) when an unprovoked assault against a news reporter took place in front of the Wartrace Town Hall. A Walking Horse Trainer Mr. Jamey R. Thompson, from California threatened a news gatherer associated with the www.billygoboy.com website, and then told him to “get the ‘f_ _ k’ out of my town”.

Arrest Warrant – State of Tennessee, Bedford County
According to The Walking Horse Report, Mr. Jamey R. Thompson has a history of “Conduct Violations in Shelbyville, Bedford County, Tennessee. At the 2010 Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration, the WHR reported that there was an incident in which Mr. Thompson interacted with the Celebration S.H.O.W inspectors in an unacceptable manner that resulted in Mr. Thompson’s being suspended in October 2010 from training for one year, assessed a $2,500.00 fine, meaning Mr. Thompson would miss the 2011 show season, and the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration.
According to The Walking Horse Report, on March 11, 2011, Mr. Jamey R. Thompson wrote the Celebration’s S.H.O,W. Inspection program a “Hardship” letter, (see below), and miraculously his suspension from training was lifted before the 2011 Show Season ensuring that he would not miss the 2011 show season and Celebration. It is well-known in the Walking Horse Racket, that the customers of his father, Mr. Russ Thompson, have been some of best advertising customers of The Walking Horse Report owned by Mr. David L. Howard. Informed sources estimate that Mr. Russ Thompson’s “Big Lick” customers have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars with Mr. Howard over the years.
At the time of the alleged “Conduct Violations” and the “Hardship Letter”, Mr. Howard served as a members of the Celebration Board Directors. Mr. Howard also served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Celebration (which owns the S.H.O. W. inspection program) the year when the Celebration VAC (Veterinary Advisory Committee) scandal swirled around the Celebration, and made the front page of The Tennessean newspaper.

According to Affidavit filed in the case, the alleged assault upon the news reporter occurred shortly after 6:10 p.m. on Thursday, July 28, 2016, on the sidewalk in front of the Tennessee Walking Horse Naitonal Museum and the Wartrace Town Hall.

Kennedy, along with Wartrace Police Chief Dan Odneal, and horse show manager Mr. Ronnie Sutton at the Jernigan Park where the “Big Lick” Wartrace Horse Show will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2016, The participants cordially discussed details and arrangements regarding the anticipated peaceful assembly of citizens who will oppose “Big Lick” Animal Cruelty at the horse show.
Following the meeting, Citizens Campaign representative Clant M. Seay went up to Main Street – a five-minute walk – and sat alone on a sidewalk bench next to the Tennessee Walking Horse National Museum waiting for the Town of Wartrace Board of Aldermen meeting to begin at 7:00 p.m.
