(Part II – TN State Fair) – World Grand Champion “Big Lick & “Big Lick” Walking Horse Racket Denied Legitimacy of “Tennessee State Fair” – Nashville, TN.

NASHVILLE, TN (STATE FAIR) – The “Big Lick” quest for respectability for  institutionalized Animal Cruelty to “Big Lick” Tennessee Walking Horses took another huge hit Friday night when the 2016 World Grand Champion “Saviour Horse”  Honors failed to answer the “Gate Call” at the Tennessee State Fair.

What the USDA APHIS Vet inspectors couldn’t do because of a federal court order, some brave ladies wearing blue T-shirts,  and heightened media scrutiny,  apparently did.

“Honors” never made it the Co-op Equine Arena, but he sure was supposed to be there.

The  Big Lickers desperately wanted to present their newly crowned “World Grand Champion “Honors” to the unsuspecting public, and one elderly 76-year-old out of touch U. S. Senator Lamar Alexander (R-TN) who has not been to the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration in 32 years.

CCABLAC (Citizens Campaign Against “Big Lick” Animal Cruelty advocates were having no part of it.  They are on a roll,  and they know it.  Fresh off of four nights of protesting outside the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration resulting in the lowest attendance in 46 years,  they showed up at the Tennessee State Fair ready to “Speak For The Horses Who Cannot Speak For Themselves”.

So why didn’t  Saviour Horse “Honors” make the trip?

“Honors” was definitely coming to the Tennessee State Fair.

State Fair Association Executive Director Mr. Scott Jones personally confirmed same with www.billygoboy.com on Wednesday night, Sep. 14, 2016,   The newly crowned “Big Lick” Tennessee Walking Horse World Grand Champion Tennessee Walking Horse,  “Honors”,  would be at the TN State Fair on Friday, September 16, 2016.

Mr. Jones said “Honors” would be exhibited at 8:00 p.m.

Early on Thursday,  Sep. 15, 2016,  www.billygoboy.com published the following article which detailed the egregious Animal Cruelty perpetrated at the 2016 Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration:

Two videos taken by a CCABLAC advocate have now been viewed over 346,000 times.

Then later on Thursday morning,  Sep. 15, 2016,  Mr, Kevin Trager, crack reporter for  WSMV TV – Channel 4 (NBC),  Tennessee’s leading television station,   headed South to Shelbyville, TN,   to ask Celebration CEO Mr. Mike Inman, CEO,  Tennessee Walking Horse Celebration some questions.   Reporter Trager wanted Mr. Inman to explain “Why”  almost 19% (1 of every 5) “Big Lick” Tennessee Walking Horses inspected by USDA Vet inspectors at the 2016 Celebration were allegedly in violation of the Horse Protection Act (Animal Cruelty).

Walking Horse Celebration official disputes USDA report

Posted: Sep 15, 2016 7:59 PM CDT  –  Updated: Sep 15, 2016 7:59 PM CDT

Reported by Kevin Trager

SHELBYVILLE, TN (WSMV) –

“The USDA has released inspection numbers on the Tennessee Walking Horse Celebration in Shelbyville, showing several horses were disqualified.

The report shows of the 549 horses inspected by USDA officers, 104 failed to comply with the Horse Protection Act.

Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration CEO Mike Inman disputes those numbers.

“Those statistics are not accurate. They are not scientifically based and they can’t back it up with facts,” Inman said.

Inman and state Sen. Jim Tracy, R-Shelbyville, are among industry experts calling for a change in the way horses are inspected at events.

They said the current system of using USDA veterinary medical officers should be replaced with technology that tests the horses for soring.

“Instead of embracing science in objective testing, which we are advocates for, they say no, we don’t want to make sure it’s right. I want to do it on how I feel,” Inman said.

Proposed changes to the Horse Protection Act would also eliminate the use of pads, action devices or chains, and bands on the horses’ feet.

Inman said banning those devices would tear apart the fabric upon which the shows are built.

“If you eliminate 70 to 80 percent of any industry, you run the risk of destroying it,” Inman said.

The Horse Protection Act was written in 1970.

The USDA released a statement saying:

Nearly 40 years later, the horse industry has not eliminated soring. APHIS’ direct observations indicate that the use of action devices and pads frequently coincides with instances of soring and that their use can cause a horse to be sored.

“We invite people to come see the horse. See it up close and personal and judge for themselves,” Inman said. “When you take away the propaganda and look at the facts, you come away with a totally different opinion. We try to do that one person at a time.”

The USDA is seeking public comment on the proposed changes. That comment period ends Sept. 26.”

For the record, Mr. Inman did not tell the Channel 4 Reporter,   “Well, Bless Your Heart, You Don’t Know What You Are Talking About” when Reporter Trager confronted him with the fact that the USDA Vet Inspectors found that 19% of the  “Big LIck” TWH were “SORED” at the 2016 Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration.

Mr. Inman told Mr. Trager:

“We invite people to come see the horse. See it up close and personal and judge for themselves,” Inman said. “When you take away the propaganda and look at the facts, you come away with a totally different opinion. We try to do that one person at a time.”

So CCABALAC  (Citizens Campaign Against “Big Lick” Animal Cruelty animal welfare advocates took Mr. Inman at his word.  Instead of welcoming them with open arms,  when CCABLAC advicates appeared before Mr. Inman at the State Fair on Friday night,  he told a CCABLAC advocate:

  • “What do you guys think you are doing here,  you really can’t be here”,
  • “What you are protesting against doesn’t even exist”,
  • Well, Bless Your Heart, You Don’t Know What You Are Talking About”.

In 2013 – 2015,  there was an entirely different scene at the Tennessee State Fair when newly crowned World Grand Champion “I Am Jose” and Trainer Mr. Casey Wright were welcomed like “Rock Stars”.

Nephew Eugene says a lot has changed since 2015.  So far, Mr. Mike Inman is giving “Baghdad Bob” a real run for his money.  Mr. Inman is paid $170,000.00 a year to tell lies for “Big Lick” Animal Cruelty.  For sure, he gives it his best effort each and every time.
