FRANKLIN, TN – After almost 9 months of “Being Together” in 2016, the cozy relationship continued last night at the Marriott Hotel in Franklin, Tennessee, when the over 200,000+ member strong CCABLAC (Citizens Campaign Against “Big Lick” Animal Cruelty) held its annual “Christmas Get Together” at the same time and place that the TWHBEA (TN Walking Horse breed registry) held its annual Awards Banquet down the Hall.
In 2016, CCABLAC has been present, “Speaking FOR ‘The Horse” Who Cannot Speak For Themselves, at “Big Lick” venues from the Gulf of Mexico at Panama City, Florida; to the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina; and Times Square of New York City.
The “Big Lickers” have seen this Banner at every major horse show, and they saw it again last night right down the Hall from their Annual Awards Banquet at the Cool Springs Conference Center in Franklin, Tennessee.
CCABLAC met in the Marriott – Thoroughbred Boardroom.
TWHBEA met down the Hall in the Champion Ballroom.
CCABLAC animal welfare advocates enjoyed fellowship, reminisced about 2016, and planned activities for 2017.
Here are some Videos featuring CCABLAC animal welfare advocates:

Down the Hall, the Lickers dressed up and had about 160 people listen to TWHBEA President Mr. Steve Smith give an address outlining the “Licker” path to victory in 2017.

Nephew Eugene says he is putting his money in 2017 on the folks who hold this banner:
Nephew Eugene also wonders why “Novice Flatter” Ms Candace Wade, who lives in Franklin, Tennessee, didn’t come on over to the near-by Franklin Marriott Hotel, and learn
something about the ”Big Lick” Animal Cruelty subject matter, from either the Lickers or the Flatters. Ms Wade recently “attempted” to moderate two Panel Discussions on “Big LIck” Tennessee Walking Horses at the Equus Film Festival. Ms. Wade provided “soft ball” questions to “Big Lick” multi-millionaire Mr. Duke Thorson whose Thorsport Farm was the subject of a 2015 undercover investigation for alleged “Big Lick” Animal Cruelty.
Ms. Candace Wade also patronized Mr. Thorson calling him “Duke”, and she channeled the discussion in such a manner that Mr. Thorson never had to face any questions from other panelists or the audience regarding the alleged “Big Lick” Cruelty which allegedly occurs on his property outside Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
Ms Wade was “hand-selected” to be the Panel Moderator by Equus Film Festival principals Ms. Lisa A. Diersen and Ms. Diana DeRosa. There has been much controversy over the Equus Film Festival allowing the “Protect The Harvest” PAC (Political Action Committee) to be the “Presenting Sponsor” of the recent event held in New York City on Nov .17 – 20, 2016. “Protect The Harvest” is pro horse slaughter, pro circus elephants and against puppy mill regulation. “Farm Paint” which is owned by Mr. Duke Thorson of Thorsport Farm was also a corporate sponsor.
Ms. Wade is the author of: “Horse Sluts: The Saga of Two Women on the Trail of their Yeehaw”. Ms. Wade has recently written a series of articles about an alleged “Big Lick” Tennessee Walking Horse named “Theo”.
So far, Ms. Wade has failed to provide any documentation that:
- “Theo” is a registered Tennessee Walking Horse;
- “Theo” has any Show Record as a “Big Lick” Tennessee Walking Horse.
Here is Ms. Wade appearing at the USDA public hearing on proposed Federal Regulation to remove “Pads and Chains” from “Big Lick” Tennessee Walking Horses. . When Ms Wade got a “little hyperbolic” describingt “the wild eyed, flaming nostrils of the agitated beasts I witnessed” of the “Big Lick” Horses, the assembled “Big Lickers” burst out laughing at her. Ms. Wade attempted to quell them with the words, “Excuse Me, Excuse Me”. The guffaws continued.
Ms. Wade left shortly after her comment, and didn’t stick around to cover the rest of the Hearing.

Here are representatives from CCABLAC & FOSH, effectively “Speaking FOR ‘The Horses” at the Friday, Nov. 18, 2016, Equus Film Festival in New York City.
Thke FOSH and CCABLAC representatives:
- Did not sponsor Equus Film Festival;
- Called “Big Lick” Animal Cruelty what it is: “Big Lick” Animal Cruelty and refused to use the term, “Performance Horse”;
- Had no desire to fraternize or compromise with “Big Lick” Multi-Milionaire Mr. Duke Thorson.
Here is a Change.Org Petition protesting Equus Film Festival having Horse Murder Supporter – “Protect The Harvest”, and “Farm Paint” owned by alleged”Big Lick” Animal Cruelty supporter Mr. Duke Thorson, owner of “Big Lick” Thorsport Farm, as EFF sponsors.
