SHELBYVILLE, TN – Shortly after receiving Sixth Place on Monday night in Class 112 – “Owner Amateur Gentlemen On Show Pleasure Horses” at the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration, and dismounting from his horse, Mr. Richard Mitch of Pleasant Hill, MO, was served with a “Summons In A Civil Action” issued by the Clerk of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi notifying Mr. Mitch that he is the Defendant in a lawsuit for damages filed against him in Oxford, Mississippi, on August 23, 2017.

The Complaint, filed on behalf of Ms. Sandra L. Culbertson of Clarksville, TN, alleges that Mr. Richard Mitch recklessly endangered and put Ms. Culbertson in fear for her life when Mr. Mitch drove his truck at Ms. Culbertson while she was exercising her First Amendment rights as a CCABLAC (Citizens Campaign Against “Big Lick”Animal Cruelty) Animal Welfare Advocate at the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration “Delta Fall Classic Horse Show” held on November 3, 2016. The Complaint asks for a Jury award of $150,000.00 actual damages, and $150,000.00 punitive damages against Mr. Richard Mitch.

The “First Saturday” night, August 26, 2017, Aged Stallions Class, Sections (A) and (B) were pathetic.
Only four horses competed in Section B. The class was won by “I’M Mayhem” with Mr. Rodney Dick in the irons.
“Gen’s Black Maverick” with Mr. Bill Callaway up won Section A.
