CCBLAC (Citizens Campaign Against “Big Lick” Animal Cruelty) Digs In At Panama City Beach, Florida – “Speaking FOR ‘The Horses’ Who Cannot Speak For Themselves”

PANAMA CITY BEACH (FL) – Two days before the 19th Annual Panama City “Big Lick” Charity Horse Show a/k/a  the “Gulf Coast Charity Horse Show”  a/k/a  the “Ms Martha Blackmon Milligan Invitational”, it is pretty clear that the “Big Lick” is on the way out as CCABLAC (Citizens Campaign Against “Big Lick” Animal Cruelty) continues the national and world-wide pressure to eliminate it at all public venues.

PCB Mayor Mike Thomas,  long time personal friend of Ms. Martha Blackmon Milligan confirmed it the show’s decline when interviewed on Tuesday,  April 25, 2017, by Channel 7 Reporter Ms Megan Bell, saying,  “It’s just winding down, looks like, and that’s a shame”.

Ms. Martha Blackmon Milligan, who showed eight times in two days at the April 14 – 15, 2017,  “Big Lick” Horse Show on private property in Shelbyville, Tennessee, continues to be in a state of denial.  Speaking of CCABLAC animal welfare advocates she said,”They don’t know what they are doing.  They don’t even know what they are talking about”.

Here is an article published in 2014,  “The Sore World of the “Big Lick” Tennessee Walking Horse” by Clant M. Seay of Oxford, MS.

CCBLAC (Citizens Campaign Against “Big Lick” Animal Cruelty) animal welfare advocate Clant M. Seay said,  “We presented 100,000 signatures to Congressman Ted Yoho (R-FL) from Gainesville (FL) who is going to present them,  along with 11,000 comments,  to the President for consideration of allowing a federal regulation to be approved to remove the “Pads and Chains” to eliminate the Big Lick Animal Cruelty”.

In 2016,  it was the “Gulf Coast Charity Trainers Show”.  In 2017, the Walking Horse Trainers Association is no longer backing it as a chance for a “Paid Vacation” at the “Home of the World’s Most Beautiful Beaches”.

In 2016,  although the Boys & Girls Club withdrew as a charitable beneficiary,  Ms. Milligan secured the St. Andrews Baptist Church to work as labor at the Horse Show for a $5,000.00 donation.

In 2016, CCABLAC started a Change.Org Petition

https://www.change.org/p/dr-delbert-summey-ask-st-andrew-baptist-church-community-medical-center-to-refuse-animal-cruelty-money

The CCABLAC Petition invoked the name of Southern Baptist Evangelist the Rev. Billy Graham teaching:

“Does the Bible say anything about how we should treat animals?”

Dr. Graham answered:

“… the Bible commands us to take care of the animals under our care. One of the signs of a righteous man, the Bible says, is that he takes care of his animals.” (Proverbs 12:10) In fact, the Bible says we must never treat any part of God’s creation with contempt. When we do, we are indirectly treating our Creator with contempt. Instead, God calls us to be stewards or trustees of His creation, and the Bible reminds us that we are responsible to Him for the way we treat it.”

And the Petition cited:

“The local Horse Show Organizer (Ms. Martha Blackmon Milligan) was charged in December 2015,  by the USDA Complaint filed in Washington, D.C., for two alleged violations of the federal Horse Protection Act (Animal Cruelty) at the 2013 Gulf Coast Charity Trainers Show in Panama City Beach, Florida.”

” The President of the Walking Horse TRAINERS, while facing alleged Horse Protection Act Violation (Animal Cruelty) charges,  agreed to serve a recent 8 month federal suspension from showing horses,  and paid an $1,100.00 fine.”

The CCABLAC Petition also highlighted:

“In March 2015,   the University of Mississippi Medical Center refused to accept an annual $50,000.00 “Big Lick” charitable donation to its Childrens Hospital, and publicly disassociated itself from the “Big Lick” Horse Show in Jackson, Mississippi,  due to the Animal Cruelty controversy.

The University of Tennessee will not allow the “Big Lick” Tennessee Walking Horse to be exhibited at the annual Homecoming football game.

The Panama City – Bay County Boys & Girls Club recently confirmed it would no longer be part of the “Big Lick” Gulf Coast Charity TRAINERS Show.

Regions Bank withdrew a $25,000.00 sponsorship of the “Big Lick” Tennessee Walking Horse Super Bowl (Celebration).

Pepsi Cola withdraw a $25,000.00 sponsorship of the “Big Lick” Tennessee Walking Horse Super Bowl (Celebration).”

In 2016, there were nine barns with temporary stalls and in 2017,  there are only six barns.   It is not yet clear if the barns contain the same number of stalls in 2017 as 2016.   They appear to be smaller.

A reporter with www.billygoboy.com confirmed late Tuesday with a spokesperson with the St. Andrews Baptist Church Medical Center in Panama City, Florida, that the Church and its Medical Center is not having anything to do with the 2017 Panama City Beach “Big Lick” Charity Horse Show.

So the battle lines have been drawn in the “Home Of The World’s Most Beautiful Beaches” at the Municipality of Panama City Beach, Florida,  which is once again attempting to foist upon the onlooking World horrific  “Big Lick” Animal Cruelty to Tennessee Walking Horses as family entertainment.

Please stay tuned for ongoing coverage of “Big Lick” Animal Cruelty at the Frank Brown Park in Panama City Beach, Florida.
